Covid Boosters and 3rd Covid Vaccinations

The Boston Primary Care Network (PCN) want to update patients regarding the roll out of the Covid Booster and the new 3rd Primary Covid Vaccination programme.

The Boston PCN consists of 6 Boston GP practices:

  • Swineshead Medical Group
  • The Sidings Medical Practice
  • Parkside Medical Practice
  • Greyfriars Surgery
  • Liquorpond Street Surgery
  • Kirton Medical Centre

The ‘Booster Cohort:

This includes:

  • those living in a residential care home for older adult
  • all adults aged 50 and over
  • frontline health and social care workers
  • all those aged 16 – 49 years with underlying health conditions that put them at higher risk of severe Covid-19, and adult carers
  • adult household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals

To book please contact 119 to book an appointment 6 months and 7 days after you second vaccine.

3rd Primary Covid Vaccine Cohort for the severely immunosuppressed. (Patients with less severe immunosuppression are not included in this guidance.)

The severely immunosuppressed cohort will be contacted by the PRSA staff to book an appointment (Please do not contact your GP surgery as they are not able to book you an appointment), or visit the Princess Royal Sports Arena (PRSA) as a walk in patient, following receipt of a letter from your Consultant. Please take the letter with you.

The 3rd Covid vaccination can be given 8 weeks after the 2nd vaccine. You will then be called at a later date for a ‘Booster’ 6 months after your 3rd vaccine.
